Comtois voted top QMJHL prospect

Maxime Comtois has been voted top prospect for the 2017 NHL Draft in Sportsnet’s 2016-17 preseason QMJHL coaches poll.

The Victoriaville Tigres forward finished ahead of Halifax Mooseheads forward Nico Hischier in voting.

Comtois had 26 goals and 60 points in 62 games in his rookie season in the QMJHL, and hhttps://futureconsiderations.ca/playerprofiler/GABRIEL-VILARDI/as two assists in three points in six games this season.

The 17-year-old was fifth in Future Considerations’ preliminary ranking for the 2017 draft, behind Nolan Patrick of the Brandon Wheat Kings, Timothy Liljegren of Rogle, Gabe Vilardi of the Windsor Spitfires, and Owen Tippett of the Mississauga Steelheads.

Patrick, for the WHL, and Vilardi, for the OHL, were voted top prospects of their respective leagues.
