Chmelevski named CHL Scholastic Player of the Year

Sasha Chmelevski is at the head of the class.

Chmelevski, 17, was named the Canadian Hockey League’s CIBC Scholastic Player of the Year after achieving a 98 percent average across his six Grade 12 courses. He studied British Literature, Sports and Entertainment Marketing, Anatomy and Physiology, Probability and Statistics, Psychology and Physical Education through Michigan’s Virtual Charter Academy.

Chmelevski, 54th in Future Considerations’ final ranking for the 2017 NHL Draft, scored 21 goals and 22 assists for 43 points in 58 games played as a rookie with the Ottawa 67’s.
