Cadorette nets Vaughn CHL goalie nod

Draft eligible goaltenders continue to make noise in the CHL.

2013 prospect Philippe Cadorette of the Baie-Comeau Drakkar was named the Vaughn CHL Goaltender of the Week. Cadorette posted an impressive 2-0-0-0 record with a GAA of 1.50 and SV% of .954. The 17-year-old in his second year in the QMJHL after serving as a backup last season.

This is Cadorette’s first Goaltender of the week award this year.

Despite being recognized for a strong week, Cadorette’s start to the year has been less than ideal. He currently has a 2.89 goals against average coupled with a .895 save percentage. While his personal numbers have slumped, his team is off to a strong start with an 11-4-0-2 start, good for fifth in the league.

Cadorette is not currently ranked outside of Future Considerations’ top-100 for the 2012 NHL Draft. Nonetheless, this accolade helps in establishing himself as primer draft prospect.
