FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
CALGARY, AB – Future Considerations Hockey today announced Callum Booth of the Quebec Remparts as the Double Blue 360 draft eligible Goaltender of the month for October.
Booth has had a strong start to his draft eligible year with the Remparts and second season in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. The 17-year-old has posted a 7-4-0 record with a 3.00 goals against average and .911 save percentage.
His October was particularly strong though. In six starts, Booth put together a 5-1-0 record with a 2.44 goals against average and .920 save percentage.
“Callum has done his best to step up his game early this season and has taken over the starting duties in Quebec,” Future Considerations scouting director Dan Stewart said. “His impressive blend of size, reflexes and quickness will surely make him a prized goaltending prospect for the 2015 draft. He has flashed his electric glove and lightning like legs early and often this short season regularly robbing some of the top QMJHL shooters.
“While he has some areas to improve upon, as all young net minders do, Booth has the look of a future pro.”
Booth was 11-5-3 with a 2.68 goals against average and .914 save percentage in 25 games played a year ago. He was originally selected in the third round, 52nd overall in the 2013 QMJHL Entry Draft.
Also considered for the award was Blainsville-Broisbriand Armada goaltender Samuel Montembeault, who was 5-3-0 with a 2.87 goals against average and .899 save percentage in eight games played.
