Blackwood named Double Blue Top Goalie

CALGARY, AB – Future Considerations Hockey today announced Mackenzie Blackwood of the Barrie Colts as the Double Blue 360 draft eligible Goaltender of the month for February.

Blackwood pieced together a 7-3-0-0 record with a 3.25 goals against average and .899 save percentage in 10 appearances for the Colts. The 18-year-old topped the 30-save plateau four times in the month and twice in losses where he allowed three or fewer goals.

The 18-year-old was 61st in Future Considerations’ Midterm ranking for the 2015 NHL Draft.

Also considered for the award was Nick Schneider of the Medicine Hat Tigers. Schneider was 2-3-0-0, recording a 2.74 goals against average and .901 save percentage in seven appearances.
