Nugent-Hopkins vaults to top of January draft ranking

Sean Couturier is champion no more. For the first time this season, the Drummondville Voltigeurs forward is not a top Future Considerations’ ranking for the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.

Instead, that honour now goes to Red Deer Rebels standout Ryan Nugent-Hopkins.

Nugent-Hopkins, named the game MVP for Team Orr at the Top Prospects Game, jumps ahead of both Couturier and Swedish defenseman Adam Larsson, who now hold down the second and third spot respectively. Kitchener Rangers forward continues his stranglehold on fourth. Dougie Hamilton, who anchors the Niagara IceDogs defense, rounds out the top five.
