Skinner nets WHL goalie nod

Stuart Skinner of the Lethbridge Hurricanes had a near-flawless week.

Skinner won both starts this past week with a 0.99 goals against average and .970 save percentage with one shutout to earn WHL Goaltender of the Week.

The 18-year-old returned from the 2017 CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game to earn a second-star nod with 34 saves in a 3-2 overtime win at the Red Deer Rebels. On Saturday, Skinner stopped all 31 shots faced in a 3-0 victory against the Moose Jaw Warriors. He was named first star.

Skinner is 26-13-3-2 with a 3-22 goals against average and .906 save percentage with Lethbridge this season.

He is 92nd in Future Considerations’ Winter ranking for the 2017 NHL Draft.
