Skinner named CHL Goalie of the Week

The Canadian Hockey League noticed Stuart Skinner’s big week.

The Lethbridge Hurricanes stopper was announced as the CHL Goaltender of the Week on Tuesday.

Skinner, 92nd in Future Considerations’ Winter ranking for the 2017 NHL Draft, won both starts this past week with a 0.99 goals against average and .970 save percentage.

The 18-year-old returned from the 2017 CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game to earn a second-star nod with 34 saves in a 3-2 overtime win at the Red Deer Rebels. On Saturday, Skinner stopped all 31 shots faced in a 3-0 victory against the Moose Jaw Warriors. He was named first star.

Skinner is 26-13-3-2 with a 3-22 goals against average and .906 save percentage with the Hurricanes in 2016-17.
