Jaden Schwartz is Captain Canada. The St. Louis Blues prospect was named captain for Canada’s entry at the 2012 World Junior Championship Thursday.

Defenseman Brandon Gormley and forwards Quinton Howden, Devante Smith-Pelly and Brett Connolly will serve as assistants for the tournament. Schwartz, Howden and Connolly were all members of Canada’s silver medal entry a year ago.

Schwartz, a member of Colorado College, suffered a broken ankle in Canada’s 7-2 win over the Czech Republic in 2011, ending his tournament after just two games.
