With the 6th overall selection in the National Hockey League Draft, Future Considerations selects…

Jacob Trouba.

Though he’s just one year removed from being the ninth overall selection in the 2012 NHL Draft by the Winnipeg Jets, Trouba’s game has grown by leaps and bounds over the past 365 days.

He had a standout season with the University of Michigan where the junior recorded 12 goals and 29 points in 37 games that was interrupted by a gold medal at the 2013 World Junior Championship. At the event, Trouba was named best defenseman and earned a selection to the media all-star team.

In April, Trouba signed an entry-level deal with the Jets, ensuring he’ll turn pro next season.
