Rankings Rewind: FC’s 13th overalls

Aaron Vickers2016 Draft Center

With the 13th overall selection in the National Hockey League Draft, Future Considerations selects…

Nazem Kadri.

Drafted seventh overall by the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2009, it’s taken Kadri four seasons to make an impact at the NHL level, but what an impact the London, ON product had. In the shortened season, Kadri scored 18 goals and added 26 points in 48 games — 22nd overall in league scoring.

Kadri’s breakout came after two seasons split between the Maple Leafs and Toronto Marlies and many had called into question whether or not the 22-year-old could emerge a star. He’s quickly silenced those critics.
