His size and physical strength are his best assets…he is a defensive defenseman who makes a decent first pass and plays an intimidating physical style…owns the boards in his own zone and causes attackers to go the opposite side of the ice to stay clear of his tenacious hits…plays with solid defensive positioning and his overall mobility is impressive. He does not have any real offensive upside…tends to take some time identifying his options and lacks hand skills. (May 2009)
