The mobile two-way defender has been impressive this past season with Bern in the Swiss league. Josi has displayed solid overall mobility with average speed and solid balance. Josi has good on-ice vision and playmaking skills that compliment his ultra-safe mistake-free defensive game. He has a very impressive transition game and can also make a very solid first pass. He has a good work ethic and makes good quick decisions at both ends of the ice. Josi plays like Nicklas Lidstrom in that he does not expel a whole lot of extra effort while still playing effective in both zones. Josi has good overall instincts and as well as outstanding hockey sense. He plays a strong defensive position and uses his stick well in his own zone. (May 2008)
