The slick forward with good size and soft hands has not had it easy in his first couple OHL seasons. McRae has not been able to live up to the lofty expectations placed on him over two years ago. He skates well and has good hockey sense to go with good on-ice vision. He has a decent shot but is at his best and most natural when playing the playmaker role. Defensively he knows his responsibilities and blocks out passing lanes with his long reach. He has the ability and has shown flashes of playing a power forward game. (May 2008)
