A big, powerful winger who has the ability to be lethal, given his mix of size, speed and puck skills. He displays hard work in the offensive zone. He has the ability to create time and space; he protects the puck well, utilizing his strength and reach. He sets up in front of the crease and plays the screen well. Chebykin has a powerful stride and skates very well for his size. He has above-average mobility, but nothing overly speedy. Generates power in his stride due to his large frame and strength. Has good hands and seems to always have the puck on his stick. Has the bad habit of making one too many moves on the rush and gets the puck knocked off, but in tight, Chebykin can protect the puck and hold on to it for a while. Shows patience on the rush that allows him to see developing lanes. At times he seems hesitant to take a hit and becomes careless with the puck. The kid loves to dodge checks and work below the goal line in order to center the puck and create chances in front of the net. Impresses with his speed and determination to get to loose pucks before anyone else. He displays a physical edge to his game as he can crush defenders with the puck on the forecheck or use his frame to rub them off the puck. Moves very well with the puck on his stick and is solid in transition and on zone entries. (May 2015)
