A gritty and hard working two-way forward. Has good size and still growing which is good news as he can get bounced around by stronger college opponents. Willing to battle it out and play a had nosed game along the wall, in front of the net and coming back in his own zone. Used as a pretty decent net front presence on the Badgers power play and is effective. Handles the puck well and can cause some havoc in close to the crease. Skating is his biggest downfall as he has heavy slow feet and lack of jump. Has weak legs and will, or at least is projected to, improve his stride and balance once he adds consider- able lower body strength. Some see a potential top six forward with Mersch, but a solid checking winger is likely gong to be his eventual role as a pro. (May 2011)
