A hard working stay-at-home type defender, D’Orazio has shown good ability to shutdown top offensive player at the major junior level. He has displayed solid mobility, defensive anticipation and solid physical play. He can handle the puck in his zone, make a good outlet pass and has a hard shot. He blocks shots, plays aggressively and displays solid defensive positioning. D’Orazio has limited upside and does not project to be on a teams top four defenders but should make a solid five or sixth defender at the next level. He needs to gain strength to better utilize his style of play. (May 2008)
