Ryan Pilon, eligible for the 2015 NHL Draft, has decided to leave the Lethbridge Hurricanes, according to the team’s website.

Pilon, the 3rd overall selection in the 2011 Bantam Draft, recorded five goals and 28 points in 57 games last season. In 17 contests this year, the 17-year-old has three goals and seven points. The 6-foot-2, 197-pound defenseman was a member of Canada’s gold medal winning team at the Ivan Hlinka Memorial this summer and served as captain of Team West at the U17 Hockey Challenge last winter.

Pilon, a projected first round pick by Future Considerations in 2015, has returned home and is awaiting a trade from the Hurricanes.
