Patrick tops WHL coaches poll

The talents of top 2017 NHL Draft eligible Nolan Patrick haven’t gone unnoticed.

Patrick, first in Future Considerations’ preliminary ranking for the 2017 NHL Draft, topped a number of categories in Sportsnet’s 2016-17 preseason WHL coaches poll, including top draft eligible prospect.

The 18-year-old had 41 goals and 102 points in 72 regular season games for the Brandon Wheat Kings last season, and 13 goals and 30 points in 21 playoff games en route to a WHL championship. Patrick was named WHL Playoffs MVP.

Patrick was also voted best overall player and best forward. He also finished second in voting for the WHL scoring title, second for best sniper, and tied for fourth for best hands.
