The 2014 World Junior selection camp process has been named for Team Canada, and a pair of draft eligibles could find themselves making an impact.
Both Sam Reinhart and Aaron Ekblad were named to Canada’s 25-man preliminary roster, which will be pared down before the team faces Germany December 26th in Malvo, Sweden.
Ekblad, first in Future Considerations’ December ranking for the draft, was one of eight defensemen named to the roster. He is fifth in Ontario Hockey League scoring amongst blueliners with 23 points in 26 games for the Barrie Colts. Reinhart, second in the ranking, is fifth in Western Hockey League scoring with 46 points in 29 games.
Connor McDavid, eligible for the 2015 NHL Draft, was also named to the roster.
