Pittsburgh expected as draft host

The National Hockey League has scheduled a press conference for Thursday in Pittsburgh that is expected to annouce the city as host of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.

NHL commissioner Gary Bettman, along with Pittsburgh Penguins President David Morehouse, general manager Ray Shero and Pittsburgh mayor Luke Ravenstahl are all expected to be in attendance for the press conference, which will be streamed live on NHL.com.

Pittsburgh has long been rumoured as the host site for the draft, expected to take place from June 22-23rd. Tampa Bay was also considered to be in contention.
