CALGARY, AB — Future Considerations Hockey today announced that Alex Nedeljkovic of the Plymouth Whalers is the FC Double Blue Sports draft eligible Goaltender of the Month for September.

Nedeljkovic, a product of Parma, OH, was 2-2-0 in four starts to start the 2013-14 season, recording a 2.21 goals against average and .937 save percentage. His performance was punctuated by a 42-save 3-2 shootout win over the Kingston Frontenacs on Sunday, September 29th.

“Nedeljkovic has shown that he is ready to take the rains in net for the Whalers,” Future Considerations’ OHL head scout Jedd Jones said. “His strong pre-season and excellent start to the regular season have garnered attention from scouts at all levels. The goaltender will have to prove his worth all season long.”

The 17-year-old is in his second season with the Whalers. Last year, Nedeljkovic was 19-2-1 with a 2.28 goals against average and .923 save percentage. He was originally selected in the sixth round, 123rd overall in the 2012 OHL Priority Selection.

Nedeljkovic sits 34th in Future Considerations’ October ranking for the 2014 NHL Draft.

Also considered for the award was Mason McDonald of the Acadie-Bathurst Titan. In three starts, McDonald went 1-2-0 with a 2.35 goals against average and .934 save percentage.
