Nedeljkovic named Double Blue Goalie of the Month

CALGARY, AB — Future Considerations today announced Alex Nedeljkovic of the Plymouth Whalers as the Double Blue Sports draft eligible Goaltender of the Month for March.

Nedeljkovic was outstanding to close out the regular season in helping the eighth-seeded Whalers to four wins in their final six games. During the stretch, he posted a 1.99 goals against average and .938 save percentage.

He added a 4.40 GAA and .905 SV% before Plymouth was eliminated by the Guelph Storm in five games of the opening round of the 2014 OHL Playoffs.

The 18-year-old finished the regular season 26-27-7 this season with a 2.88 goals against average and .925 save percentage. He’s ranked fourth among Future Considerations’ goaltenders and 57th overall for the upcoming 2014 NHL Draft.

Also considered for the award was Jordan Papirny of the Brandon Wheat Kings. Papirny finished with a 3-3-0 record with a 3.59 goals against average and .905 save percentage to close out the regular season before posting a 3.28 GAA and .900 SV% to help Brandon to a first round sweep of the Regina Pats in the 2014 WHL Playoffs.
