New York Rangers first round pick JT Miller is bound for Plymouth.

Miller has reneged on his commitment to the University of North Dakota, instead opting to take his game to the Ontario Hockey League.

The Whalers hold Miller’s rights, who was selected 15th overall in June’s NHL Entry Draft. Whalers’ Stefan Noesen (Ottawa, 21) and Rickard Rickell (Anaheim, 30) were also drafted in the first round this year.

Miller spent last season with the US National Team Development Program, recording 15 goals and 50 points in 56 games.

The East Palestine, OH. native was originally selected in the fifth round, 93rd overall in the 2009 OHL Priority Draft.
