Martin named FC Goalie of the Month

Future Considerations announced today that Spencer Martin of the Mississauga Steelheads has been named draft eligible Goaltender of the Month for October.

Martin won seven of eight games started in October, allowing just 15 goals in that span and never more than three in any one individual game. The Oakville, ON product turned aside 212 shots in October, giving him a save percentage of .934.

The 17-year-old, who is 53rd in Future Considerations October ranking for the 2013 NHL Draft, has proven to be one of the league’s top netminders this season. His 2.00 goals against average is second best in the Ontario Hockey League, while his .938 save percentage ranks him third.

For his efforts, Martin is Future Considerations’ draft eligible Goaltender of the Month for October.

Also considered for the award was Eric Comrie of the Tri City Americans. Comrie won eight of 11 starts in October, recording a 2.11 goals against average and .926 save percentage.
