The Everett Silvertips season may have been ended by the Portland Winterhawks, but there’s still work left for goaltender Austin Lotz.

Lotz, along with Hunter Garlent of the Guelph Storm, were added to Canada’s National Men’s Under-18 Team training camp roster and will travel to Sochi to participate pre-U18 World Championship games. Lotz joins Philippe Desrosiers and Spencer Martin between the pipes.

In 42 games with the Silvertips this season, Lotz posted a 15-19-4 record, 3.37 goals-against average and .907 save percentage. Everett was eliminated from the WHL Playoffs in six games by Portland.

Garlent will join a forward core that boasts the likes of Jason Dickinson, Frederik Gauthier and Morgan Klimchuk. The five-foot-eight, 165-pound forward had 12 goals and 31 points in 50 games.

Canada’s camp roster now sits at three goaltenders, seven defensemen and 13 forwards.
