NHL Draft eligible forward Jordan Kyrou has been added to the Team OHL roster for the 2015 CHL Canada-Russia Series.

Kyrou, 17, is in his second season with the Sarnia Sting and has one goal and eight points in 16 games. He was also a member of Canada’s National Men’s Summer Under-18 team and won gold at the 2015 Ivan Hlinka Memorial.

“I’m happy to see Kyrou be added to Team OHL and have the chance to showcase his game with top competition,” Future Considerations scout Daniel Deschenes said. “Kyrou has been proving people wrong for a while, not getting an invite to the U17 Camp two summers ago and then making the U17 and U18 Hlinka teams. He has impressed with his decision making off the rush, desire to take control of the game with the puck, and relentless work ethic.

“There are some areas he needs to round out, but I really do believe he has what it takes to make an impact at the next level once he puts all his tools together and uses them consistently.”

In 63 games with Sarnia last year, the native of Toronto, ON had 13 goals and 36 points in 63 games.

Kyrou will compete for Team OHL in Game 4 of the series on Nov. 16.
