Import Bartosak earns CHL recognition

The Canadian Hockey League today announced that Patrik Bartosak of the Red Deer Rebels is the Vaughn CHL Goaltender of the Week for the week ending October 16 after posting a 2-0-0-0 record with a goals-against-average of 1.00 and save percentage of .966.

Bartosak stopped 56 shots in the two games including a 30-save performance on Wednesday as part of a 4-1 win over the Lethbridge Hurricanes. He also made 26 saves on Saturday in a first star performance resulting in a 4-1 Rebels win against one of the top Eastern Conference teams the Regina Pats.

Bartosak, an 18-year-old from Ostrava, Czech Republic, is playing in his first WHL season. He has made seven starts for the Rebels this season with a 5-2-0-0 record posting a goals-against-average of 1.98 and save percentage of .933.

Also considered for the award this week was Maxime Lagacé of the P.E.I Rocket who posted a 1-0-1-0 record with a goals-against-average of 2.40 and save percentage of .940. Keegan Wilson of the Brampton Battalion also had a win and overtime loss but posted a 0.98 goals-against-average and a .963 save percentage in his two starts.
