Victoria Royals and 2014 NHL Draft eligible defenseman Joe Hicketts is sidelined indefinitely after undergoing surgery to repair an upper-body injury.

The 5-foot-8 Hicketts originally suffered the malady last weekend against the Kelowna Rockets, according to the Times Columnist.

In 15 games for the Royals this season, the Kamloops, BC product has four goals and nine points. He had six goals and 24 points in 67 games for Victoria last season. Hicketts also represented Canada at the Ivan Hlinka Memorial in August.
