Dougie Hamilton has been suspended 10 games by the Ontario Hockey League for his hit to the head of Sudbury Wolves forward Michael MacDonald.

Hamilton was given a 10 game suspension based on the vulnerability of MacDonald and the injury the Wolves forward suffered as a result of the blow to the head. MacDonald is currently out of the Sudbury lineup with a concussion. The incident came in the January 13 contest between the Wolves and Niagara IceDogs.

The Boston Bruins prospect connected with MacDonald’s head after trying to regain control of a loose puck at the IceDogs blueline.

In 34 games this season, Hamilton has 13 goals and 50 points.
