Grigorenko nears Remparts return

Mikhail Grigorenko, a top prospect for the 2012 NHL Entry Draft, is expected to return to the Quebec Remparts lineup early next week.

Grigorenko has been out of the Remparts lineup since returning from the World Junior Championship. At the event, the Khabarovsk, Russia native suffered an ankle injury in Russia’s 14-0 win over Latvia. In the second period, Grigorenko collided with Latvian defenseman Arturs Salija. He did not return to the game but finished the tournament, helping Russia to a silver medal after posting two goals and five points in six games.

Departing for the World Juniors in mid-December, Grigorenko last played for the Remparts on Dec. 16. Despite missing over a month of action, The six-foot-three forward is 11th in league scoring with 25 goals and 58 points in 36 games this season.
