When Germany’s World Junior Championship entry hits the ice in Ufa, it will be littered with 2013 eligible players.
Four first-time draft eligible players were named to the preliminary roster for the Germans, with camp set to get underway December 15th.
Leading the group, top prospect defensemen Tim Bender who’s currently playing in Mannheim of the German junior league and has 11 goals and 22 points in 20 games this year. Bender will be battling with 10 other defensemen named to the preliminary roster with spots for only seven.
Muskegon Lumberjacks forward Frederik Tiffels, who has 14 assists in 20 games in United States Hockey League action, will also vie for a spot on the roster. Tiffels on the other hand is battling with 15 other forwards for one of 12 spots.
Forwards Dominik Kahun and John Koslowski will also compete for an opportunity to go to Russia.
