FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
CALGARY, AB – Connor McDavid of the Erie Otters tops Future Considerations’ May ranking for the 2015 NHL Draft, presented by FASTHockey.
McDavid has held the top spot at Future Considerations since the Preliminary ranking was released last May and hasn’t shown any desire to relinquish that role. The Richmond Hill, ON native recorded 44 goals and 120 points in 47 regular season games and added 20 goals and 45 points in 18 playoff games. He was recently named the OHL’s Most Outstanding Player of the Year as voted by the writers and broadcasters that cover the league.
Jack Eichel, currently representing Team USA at the IIHF World Championship, remains second.
The 18-year-old forward had 26 goals and 71 points in 40 games with Boston University this season and was named the 2015 Hobey Baker Award winner. He was also named the Hockey East scoring champion, rookie of the year, player of the year, first team Hockey East all-star and a member of the all-rookie team. Eichel has two goals and six points in seven games at the Worlds.
Noah Hanifin of Boston College and Dylan Strome, McDavid teammate in Erie, are ranked third and fourth respectively. Mitchell Marner of the London Knights is fifth.
