With the Portland Winterhawks, Seth Jones is used to being on top of the Western Hockey League standings.

He’s getting used to being on top of draft rankings, too.

For the third consecutive month, Jones is Future Considerations’ top prospect for the 2013 NHL Draft. The six-foot-four rearguard overtook Nathan MacKinnon in January and hasn’t had a hiccup since.

MacKinnon, the top-ranked forward prospect, remains 2nd behind Jones. He’s joined by Halifax Mooseheads teammate Jonathan Drouin, who has jumped ahead of Tappara center Aleksander Barkov and is now ranked third.

Drouin isn’t the only one in the top-5 that saw some movement. Sault Ste Marie Greyhounds defenseman Darnell Nurse makes an appearance, unseating Elias Lindholm and leapfrogging Sean Monahan into fifth. Nurse’s rise in the rankings has been unparalleled this season, going unranked last summer before starting the season 24th in September’s ranking.

Both Max Domi and Kerby Rychel saw slight bumps in their positioning as well. Domi’s inched his way closer to the top-10, while Rychel is knocking on the door of a top-20 selection.
