Enigmatic Russian Kirill Kabanov has a home – Sweden.

More specifically, it appears the Moscow native is the newest addition to Färjestad.

Swedish newspaper nwt.se is reporting the transfer from the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada, who hold Kabanov’s rights, and the Swedish club is complete and that the six-foot-three winger will sign with Färjestad in the coming days. Website EliteProspects.com shows the transaction as rumoured on Kabanov’s profile page.

Färjestad boasts premiere prospects Jonas Brodin and Oscar Klefbom, as well as NHL veteran Fredrik Sjostrom.

Apparently homeless after being returned to junior by the New York Islanders, Kabanov was seemingly the odd-man out in Blainville-Boisbriand. Kabanov’s rights were picked up by the Armada with the dispersal of the Lewiston MAINEiacs franchise, but with two imports already on the roster in the form of Ilya Nikolaev and Viktor Hertzberg, the Armada currently do not have a spot available for Kabanov.
