A perfect week has netted goaltender Michael DiPietro the Ontario Hockey League’s top nod.

After posting a 3-0-0-0 record with three shutouts for a goals-against-average of 0.00 and save percentage of 1.000, DiPietro was named OHL Player of the Week for the week ending December 11.

DiPietro, 30th in Future Considerations’ Fall ranking, stopped all 64 shots he faced in the week in shutting out the Barrie Colts, Sudbury Wolves, and North Bay Battalion. The shutouts, on the road, came in each team’s annual Teddy Bear Toss promotional nights.

The 17-year-old Windsor Spitfires netminder now leads the OHL with four shutouts. He also has the league’s lowest goals against average at 2.11, and highest save percentage at .922. Overall, DiPietro has a 15-3-4-0 record.
