DiPietro nets another CHL nod

Michael DiPietro of the Windsor Spitfires has done it again.

The 2017 NHL Draft prospect has been named the CHL Goaltender of the Week for the week ending Jan. 15 after posting a 2-0-0-0 record with a goals-against-average of 1.44 and save percentage of .954.

DiPietro is the first two-time award recipient of the 2016-17 campaign.

He turned aside 62 shots in a pair of victories for the Spitfires, including earning first star honors in a 3-2 shootout win against the Kitchener Rangers on Thursday. He also made 26 saves Sunday against the Saginaw Spirit in a 5-1 win.

DiPietro, 25th in Future Considerations’ Winter ranking for the 2017 draft, is 20-6-4-0 with a 2.20 goals against average and .921 save percentage. He also has four shutouts.

The 17-year-old will represent Team Orr in Quebec City at the CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game.
