CALGARY, AB — Future Considerations today announced Thatcher Demko of Boston College as the Double Blue Sports draft eligible Goaltender of the Month for January.

Demko went undefeated in the month of January, posting a 5-0-0 record with a 1.57 goals against average and a .944 save percentage. He also jumped from 23 to 17 in Future Considerations’ February ranking for the 2014 NHL Draft.

“Demko has really looked far more comfortable and confident in the crease for BC,” Future Considerations scouting director Dan Stewart said. “The big puck blocking goaltender has really taken over the reins for a strong Boston College team as he gives them a solid chance to win every game no matter the competition. With his natural size, mobility and mental strength he is FC’s top goaltending prospect for 2014.”

In 12 games with BC this season, the San Diego, CA native is 9-1-2 with a 1.90 goals against average and .930 save percentage.

Also considered for the award was Alex Nedeljkovic of the Plymouth Whalers, Nedeljkovic posted a 4-5-1 record with a 2.93 goals against average and .928 save percentage in nine appearances in January.
