CHL Top Prospect Game roster announced

The Canadian Hockey League has announced the 40 CHL players that will compete in the 2014 BMO CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game in Calgary, AB, on January 15, 2014.

Aaron Ekblad, Future Considerations’ top prospect in December’s ranking of the 2014 NHL Draft, will go head-to-head with the man he overtook in Sam Reinhart. Ekblad will represent Team Orr while Reinhart will skate on Team Cherry’s side.

Nine of Future Considerations’ top 10 ranked players will participate in the event and 19 skaters ranked in the first round will skate at Scotiabank Saddledome for the annual draft spectacle.

The 40 CHL players competing in the game were chosen by the 30 NHL clubs and divided into teams by NHL Central Scouting. In all, 20 players from the Ontario Hockey League, 13 players from the Western Hockey League, and seven players from the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
