Nine players who appear in Future Considerations’ preliminary ranking for the 2014 NHL Draft have been chosen to represent Canada at the Ivan Hlinka Memorial from Aug. 5-10 in Breclav, Czech Republic and Piestany, Slovakia.

Barrie Colts blueliner Aaron Ekblad, third in FC’s preliminary ranking, will lead a defensive core and will be joined by Roland McKeown (7th) of the Kingston Frontenacs and Red Deer Rebels rearguard Haydn Fleury (24th).

Oshawa Generals center Michael Dal Colle (5th) will head a forward group that also includes Sam Bennett (9th) and Spencer Watson (30th) of the Kingston Frontenacs, Jake Virtanen (11th) of the Calgary Hitmen, Jared McCann (12th) of the Sault Ste Marie Greyhounds and Moose Jaw Warriors pivot Braden Point (19th).
