NHL scouts hoping to catch a glimpse of the highly regarded Ryan Murray will have to wait four-to-six weeks to do so.
The standout Everett Silvertips captain suffered a high ankle sprain in an 8-2 loss to the Brandon Wheat Kings Wednesday night.
Murray is regarded as the best draft eligible defenseman – at least at this point – for the 2012 NHL Entry Draft next June.
The sprain could put his World Junior Championship ambitions in doubt. Murray, who captained Canada’s World Under-18 entry last March, should be returning right around the time of Canada’s selection camp for the World Junior Championship in Edmonton and Calgary.
