Quebec Remparts forward Nick Sorensen will miss the remainder of the season after injuring his knee on the weekend.
Sorensen, an Danish import player from Sweden, suffered the injury in a knee-on-knee collision with Baie-Comeau’s Jonathan Lessard, who has been suspended indefinitely as a result.
Eligible for the 2013 NHL Entry Draft, Sorensen had five goals and nine points in his first eight QMJHL games.
Sorensen, who turned 17-years-old a week ago, is expected to undergo surgery repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament as well as his lateral collateral ligament. He is expected to go under the knife in January and spend the next six-to-eight months rehabbing the injury.
